With age comes... ?

Well, apparently its 'wisdom'.

Definition of wisdomthe quality or state of being wiseknowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment asto action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.

Characteristics of wisdomContrary to popular beliefs, wisdom is not the gift of ""knowing everything,"" but rather possessing an open mind to further increase knowledge.A wise person always think before they speak and talks about subjects he knows about and asks questions about the ones he/she are not familiar with. People who possess wisdom tends to be humble and not show-offs.

I have to laugh at both definitions... I always thought people of an older age knew better than anyone younger, and had the ability to make you think that they know everything.

I have bought this subject up today because I have older friends and family and they  never cease to amaze me with their naivety and occasionally their childlike behaviour.

Recently it has even got to the point where even my 11 year old son asked why common sense wasn't used!
And to my knowledge, most think that boys of that age lack wisdom and the ability to think before they speak.... really?

So, after years and years of believing that older people have wisdom, I am now not so sure. But having spent this morning thinking about this; maybe younger people are wiser? Hmmm, I don't believe that either.

What about another approach... How about someone that knows what they believe in (eg their morals, religious beliefs etc), are they wise? Possibly...

However, what if you don't have the same beliefs?

Maybe someone that I think is wise, doesn't seem so wise to you because you don't agree with their opinion.

Hmmmm maybe wisdom is in the eye of the beholder, a little like beauty!!!?

Answers on the back of a postcard please!

Oh yes, back in those days we used to actually do that!
Nowadays we just email, enter on a website, text or call a 0900 number!

Answers... I am looking for them.

I am wondering what makes me happy!

Hmmm... Definition of happy:

delighted, pleased, or glad, as over a particular thing: to be happy to see a person.

Today, my husband actually asked me to make a list of these things that make me happy for him.
He seems to think I am completely unhappy.
Well, the breaking news is that I am not COMPLETELY unhappy.

So, when someone asks you what makes you happy, what is your answer/s?

I have spent the most part of today wondering what my answer is to that.

I admit I am unhappy with bits of my life that other people control, mess up and then fail to change.
Does that mean that its my fault that these parts of my life make me unhappy?

Or when you are asked that, should you think of the things that you like to do? Like to own (buy)? Like to see?

What are your thoughts?

Anyway, back to my list of things that make me happy... HAHAHAHA, its so easy to list the things that make you unhappy, not so easy to list those that make you happy...

After careful thought, I have realised that my happiness is dependable upon another person. My husband.

For example, if my husband and I are really happy, then I am almost always completely happy with everything else in my life. On the blind side of that, If we aren't so good, then nothing in my life seems to work out the way I plan.

My life is built around looking after and making my husband and my kids happy, so if they aren't happy for whatever reason or I am unable to to do things that make them happy then I hold myself completely responsible.

Is this a problem... well it never used to be, but maybe I should assess that.

I feel like a failure at the moment. My kids don't like each other much and I have managed to make my husband lose faith in me as his confidant and as his business assistant... In fact, I don't think he thinks I can do much without messing it up.

I guess that is what is happening.... As a mum and wife, its my responsibility that they are all happy and for one reason or other they aren't... yikes!
